Q&A with Rosie Dougherty

She’s your Customer Service Representative, but you know her as a friend.

We’ve gotten to know several of Superior Industrial Supply’s sales representatives, so we thought we’d take a moment and introduce another important member of the team. Meet Rosie Dougherty, Customer Service Representative for Superior. Rosie has been an integral part of the Superior family for over 26 years and through that time has made quite the impact on both the Superior Industrial Supply team and our customers.

Tell us about your experience before working at Superior Industrial Supply.
Before coming to Superior twenty-six years ago, I worked in plant care. It was a fun job and I was able to meet a lot of interesting people. When I started at Superior, I packaged orders and then moved to the front counter before entering my current role.

Please tell us a little about your role at Superior.
I am one of the people that answers the phones here. I help people get the products they need to keep their businesses running smoothly. I answer their emails and make sure their orders get on the truck. It’s important to me that I help them find the right product for their needs, and if I don’t know the answer to a question, I do all I can to find them the right answer.

Why were you excited to join the Superior team?
I liked the idea that there was opportunity for me to move around in the company and discover what I liked best. Then, I took this role about 20 years ago and I liked it so much. I really enjoy talking to people. I talk to many of my customers weekly and some of them for about as long as I’ve been in this position.

Over the years, I’ve gathered quite a bit of knowledge about the products, their codes and how to get my customers what they need. I can help my customers very quickly and accurately because of that knowledge.

What do you love most about working at Superior?
There are two major reasons. First, I love my customers. I’ve been here so long I know many of them personally. Second, I really like Gary and Paul, the owners of Superior. If I ever had a problem, I could walk in there and talk to them and they would do whatever they could to help me. I just respect them both.
